“The plowers plowed upon my back”

Series Exposition of Psalms

In Psalm 129, is the gentlest of imprecatory psalms. The psalmist reflects on the suffering of God’s people and looks to God for both redemption and justice. This deliverance has come many times in history, but finds its personified fullness in Christ, by whose “scourging we are healed.”
