"I have quieted my soul"

Series Exposition of Psalms

Psalm 131 presents a model of humble trust in God, as David renounces pride, refrains from pursuing matters beyond his understanding, and finds contentment in the Lord. Using the imagery of a weaned child resting against its mother, the psalmist expresses a deep, quiet confidence in God’s care rather than striving for worldly greatness.
